Marquinhos was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on March 15, 1986. He is a Brazilian footballer who plays as a forward for Santos FC, the national team and club side Santos SC. Marquinhos began his career with Santos SC, where he played for three seasons before moving to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in 2014.
In 2014, Marquinhos made his debut for Santos in a 3-1 victory over São Paulo in the Copa Libertadores. He scored his first goal for Santos in the same game, which came just seven minutes into the match. In total, Marquinhos has scored 17 goals in 47 appearances for Santos in his professional career.
After playing for Santos, Marquinhos moved to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in 2014. During his time at PSG, Marquinhos made several key contributions to the team's success, including scoring two goals in the Champions League final against Real Madrid in 2016.

In the 2019-2020 season, Marquinhos continued to score goals for Santos and helped them achieve their best ever result in the domestic league, winning the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A twice in a row in 2019 and 2020.
