Beijing Guoan, one of the most successful football clubs in China, has always been known for its strong defensive line. However, it was Li Lei's attacking ability that truly made a difference to their success.

Born on January 28th, 1986, Li Lei is a Chinese professional football player who plays as a goalkeeper for the Chinese national team and Beijing Guoan. He started his career at the youth level with Beijing Shunyi Football Club before joining the senior team in 2004.

Li Lei's dominating attacking ability began to shine during his time at Shanghai Shenhua. In 2005, he joined the club's reserve team where he quickly established himself as a key player. His impressive performances led him to be called up to the first team squad,Chinese Super League Matches and he went on to become a regular starter under manager Zeng Lijun.

In 2012, Li Lei signed a four-year contract with Beijing Guoan. Under new coach Gu Zhihong, he continued to impress with his aggressive style of play and exceptional reflexes. His goalkeeping skills were also recognized when he was named the best goalkeeper in the Chinese Super League in both 2012 and 2013.

However, Li Lei's reputation as a dominant attacker did not go unnoticed by his opponents. In the 2014 AFC Champions League final against Al-Ahli Dubai, Li Lei saved two penalties to help Beijing Guoan win the match and clinch the title.
